You don't stop laughing because
you grow old;
you grow old because you
stop laughing.

Childhood Memories
Memories of a special kind
Life lived in a different
time
Treasures locked within
my mind
Love without a tie to bind
Simple life raised on a farm
Loved, protected, safe from
harm
Nestled in my Mother's arms
Big fireplace to keep me
warm
Memories of the feather bed
Where I used to lay my head
After evening prayers were
said
Peaceful slumber with no
dread
Daddy plowing in the field
Working hard for Autumn's
yield
Feeling happy and
fulfilled
When work ethic was instilled
Two room school house on
a hill
Walking there thru cotton
field
Beautiful memories with
me still
I treasure these and always
will

Some men never seem to grow
old. Always active in thought, always ready to adopt new ideas, they are
never chargeable with fogyism. Satisfied, yet ever dissatisfied, settled,
yet ever unsettled, they always enjoy the best of what is, and are the
first to find the best of what will be.
Shakespeare
